Snowflake Elegance - Dimensions

I finally finished the ornament... I must say although I'm very proud of the cross stitch in itself, the finish is far from being what I expected :(... It could be worse it's true but still I was hoping I could have ended with something better after undoing it and re-doing it for 3 times. I must say in my defense that it was the very first time I did something like this so I just hope the person who is going to receive it still likes it.

and here you have some pics of it:

wip

I know it's been nearly a week since the last time I posted, but I've been so busy with work and trying to finish my ornament that I didn't had the time. And besides I wanted to share the pic of it with you... if i'm lucky i'll finish it the cross-stitch part tomorrow and i'll finish it either Monday or Tuesday...
I know the pic is a bit crappy but it was taken with my mobile...

Snowflake Elegance - Dimensions

Today I went for some big shopping for my cross stitch projects, bought several threads linen 28ct and some aida 18ct.
So, as obvious, as soon as I arrived home I started a new project... I finally started my ornament I decided to change the fabric and I'm doing it on the 28ct 1x1... It's hard to see, specially the white (that is what I have been stitching mainly) but I'm getting the hang of it and I'm happy with the progress I made for the first day. I haven't take any picture since it's hardly visible(white over white) but as soon as you can see the pic I'll share it with you.

WIP

Finally I finished my first page on the HAE "Touch of Spring", only have more 14 full pages and 8 bits of pages to go... Since I'm proud of my achievement here is the picture of it.

Also here is the progress I've made so far on "Jasmin" not much as I wanted I must confess but still a bit more done than what it was...

Two more projects

And here I am with two more projects to do. One is the ornie I need to do for a Christmas exchange of one of the groups I belong to, I decided to do the Snowflake elegance from Dimensions. I have done some last year to giveaway as well so I'll be doing two more this year.
And I have to start the popcorn sleepy birth sampler for the baby daughter of one of my colleagues that was born this month.
So I believe that for know I'll be pretty much entertained with my cross stitch :)

Touch of Spring...

Last night the most frustrating situation happened to me.. There I was, happily stitching the Touch of Spring... pretty much convinced that I was going to achieve my week's goal (finishing my first page) When suddenly I realized I ran out of one of the colors I needed to complete the page and I could only buy it next Monday, that meant 5 days without being to complete my very own first page...
Lucky me, my DB decided to surprise me and since he needed to go to town for a job he went on purpose to my cross-stitch to by me the missing thread... I was so happy when he gave it to me :)
I don't think I'll be able to finish the page tonight... but still I no longer need to wait for Monday...

Tuesday 16 November 2010

WIP

After a weekend full of work and no time to stitch, I decided to spend my personal "weekend" (Mondays and Tuesdays) only cross-stitching... and sleeping eheheh. There's nothing more relaxing for me than cross-stitch and I'm really needing to relax.
I've been working on "Jasmin" I might have now 20% done and I'm going to work on the "Touch of Spring" for the rest of the week... hoping to have my first page finished by Thursday...

Well I'll be posting some more pics during the week and I might start my ornies as well... Let's wait and see how the week goes!!

New WIP

So, Since I finished the snowman I worked a little bit more on my HAED and I decided to start a new project for when I need a break from the same colours of the HAED, nothing better than the "Jasmin from the DECO collection from DMC", I'm doing the sepia version. And soon (very soon I hope) I'll start the ornament for my santa's exchange. I hope I'll be posting the photos of my progresses (and of my finished santa tomorrow)...

Finished the snowman

As I expected the snowman was finished quiet quickly and I'm really enjoying the final result (I'll post the photo later on). Meanwhile, although full of invoices to process and with the phone calls I still find the time for my stitching (it couldn't be any different), and so I returned to my HAE for some more progress on it...

Thursday 4 November 2010

My on-going stitches ^^

Here are my on-going projects (for the moment).
I believe I'll be finishing my snowman pretty soon, either tonight or tomorrow and I'll return to my HAE for more evolution on my biggest project up to now. I can't wait to see it finished.
Meanwhile I have the table cloth with flowers on standby because I ran out of dark green, and the worst part is that I was using some of the really old anchor floss, with the old codes, so I'll have to do an tour to my supply shop with a sampler of the strand and one by one, match the green I was using with the new anchor codes. So I think that unfortunately for it is going to stay on hold for a while...

My recently finished projects

These are my recently finished projects, I started this dog one year ago and only now I was able to finished. Because I had to change so many times from brown to a different brown and I needed some diversity I was stitching several other projects while doing this.
I got the chart by converting one photo of the dog to a cross-stitch chart with the PCstitch program. I'm really proud of the final result and I hope that the person who is going to receive it likes it too.

In relation to this one, I've been away from home for nearly two years, now, and sometimes I really get homesick. One of the things I love is to receive the letters from my aunt Isabel telling me about the latest news from the family and from my country. So because I know she loves cross-stitch and she loves to read I decided to do this bookmarker as a thank you gift for the letters she's sending me.

And some more of my finished projects that I'm proud off. The Newton was my first with the perfect back-side since then I've being working hard on keeping both front and back perfectly done :)
Well, as a starter to my blog, and since it's dedicated to my cross-stitch projects I decided to give it a good start with some of my favorite finished projects.

So here it is the first "big" (or so I thought) project that took me one year (with a six month break) to finish.
