IHSW check-in and result.

Hi everyone,

So although I've signed up for the IHSW I only noticed I had forgotten to do the "before post" yesterday (Sunday) so opted for leaving a 2-1 post for today.

So let me start by showing you my progress on My SOLO pieces on Thursday and Friday (preparing for IHSW):

NWN:
SS10 - 15/09/16 - 1st symbol of this page all done

SS11 - 16/09/16

Baby Raghlan:
KS07 - 15/09/16 - start on the second sleeve
KS08 - 16/09/16

And now what have I done during the official IHSW (my days off are Monday and Tuesday, so in theory my IHSW will only finish tomorrow ;) which are the two days I can stitch/knit to my heart content)

Saturday I've finished like this:

Didn't work on NWN as it was a busy day/night with work and Little Miss, so I knew there was no hope for me to stitch unless I wanted to frog everything on the following day.

But made up on the knitting front, finished the sleeve and started the top joining everything together:
KS09 - 17/09/16
And on Sunday this was how I finished:

NWN:
SS12 - 18/09/16 - Finished 2nd symbol and started the 3rd
Baby Raglan:

KS10 - 18/09/16

February IHSW Report :)

Hi everyone,

So as a true addict I had to join to IHSW (even with this nasty cough I've been having that's making me cough non stop every 5 minutes...) afterall if there's a good excuse to spend all day stitching why not take advantage of it right :)

I've been stitching on QS Believe, this is the project I'm focussing on now; it's going to be my 2nd project of each month (to be worked on the last two weeks of the month) until it's finished.

So this is how it was on my last post:
HAED - QS Believe - 14.02.2014
And this is how it is now :)
HAED - QS Believe - 24.02.2014
During the IHSW I was able to put in 750 stitches on it  that's nearly the entire column that I'm stitching now. I'm hoping to have the page complete by the end of the week... as now it's mainly blocks of colours to stitch it should be faster :)

Thanks for stopping by,
Happy Stitches,

Sara

Beginning of IHSW

Hi everyone....
Hope you're all having a great IHSW... I've kind of entered on IHSW since Thursday and I've been stitching a lot... I'm actually pretty happy with this week's amount of stitching :D
I've totally finished the first part of the owls:
Back

Front

Detail

Detail
And I stitched part 2 of the Owls gift wich is going to be a Book Marker, I just need to buy the felt to finish it

Also I've went back to Touch of Spring and started one more page, and there's one more flower showing up (I've put the pen on the side just to give an idea of the real size)

And I stitched more on Sweet Flower SAL (I'm loving the variegated effect of the threads :D)

So my plans for this IHSW are complete part 1 of the Sweet Flower SAL which is way overdue ;) and try to stitch half of the page of Touch of Spring (it will have some gaps because I ran out of one thread... and I'll have to wait a wee bit until I get it).

Also Melissa received the biscornu I sent her, so that means I can share the pictures :D... I forgot to take pictures after I added the "button" flower in the center... but this is what I stitched:

Before Mounting (back)
Before Mounting (front)

After Mounting (front)
After Mounting (back)
It's funny to see how fabric changes our perception of the colour... the pink I used on the biscornu is the same pink I'm using on the Sweet Flower SAL.

Hope you enjoy,

Hugs,
Sara

IHSW report and TUSAL

Hi everyone... I know that this post was due on Monday... but life just got on the way.... You know how it is...
So during the weekend I kept loyal to IHSW and stitched as much as I could... (not as much as I wanted) and I'm happilly reporting that I've totally finished a project I started Friday night, the Red Dragon... that I finished as a coaster, with some red matching felt on the back... and I finished the finishing of my Crazy No.6 - I had finished stitching this on the day... but during the weekend I finally decided to finish it as an ornie... and I've been stitching on my Spring Biscornu for an exchange at the Friendly Stitchers Yahoo group.... there'll be no complete photo of this until it's received... but in meantime I'm sharing with you some teasing pics... I must confess I'm loving the effects of the variegated threads on the tea dyed fabric...
Also Monday was TUSAL day... so here are some pictures of my TUSAL box... all the orts are from this year... but as you might see in one of the pictures... I've put in all the bits of the fabri, after separating them... because later on the year I'll be using my ORTS as filling for some ornies.... nothing better than recycling everything right eheheheh....

And now enough with the talk, since you might get bored of reading my ramblings, and lets go to the important part:

Happy Stitches everyone,
Sara

IHSW results and more goodies post for me...

Don't you just love when you return home and you have post that aren't bills or advertisement flyers?? I do... and today I had not one but TWO big envelopes waiting for me so I knew it couldn't be any of the above, I grabbed them on the spot and just had time to put my wallet on the floor before opening them (I was still with my coat and all that, but I was too curious to wait that 2 secs more that it takes to put the coat on its place xD) and what was waiting for me?
This was:
The gorgeous giveaway I had won at Between the Stitches

and my monthly subscription of Cross Stitcher :)

I must say the threads are even more gorgeous than in the picture (I might think it's not possible but it's true) and the PM booklet will be used for this Christmas for sure (at least I hope so) it as such a cute small designs, they will be perfect for some more ornaments for my tree. And I could go on and on about every single item of the giveaway :D.... Thank you so much I really love it :D

Now my IHSW progress, not as much stitching as I was hoping for, but I did stitch, so I can't complain I've put another 800 stitches on my MP (pictures will be shown on Joysze blog, I think) and I now have a total of 23127 stitches done so roughly more 4600 stitches to complete it :)

Thanks for coming by :)

Halfway point of IHSW and a Giveaway

Hi everyone,
I hope everyone is enjoying IHSW and stitching tons, yesterday I didn't have much time to stitch because I still had to finish some stuff for work so I plan to have my revenge today and literally do nothing else but stitch, all housework will be postponed for tomorrow xD.

Now onto the giveaway, Kathy at A Stitcher's Heirlooms is having a gorgeous giveaway so if you want to try your luck and have a new blog to stalk you should go over and read, it's really a pleasure to read her blog and I bet you'll love to see her progress on her projects :)

Well jumping to my project now and no more pc until tomorrow :)

Fancy a full stitchin weekend??

Hi everyone,
We reach middle of the week and there are already 60 stitchers joining on IHSW... Yeaaaahhhhh :)
So many blogs for me to read already, anyway Joysze is trying to increase the number (and to be honest me too because I want to have even more blogs to stalk read) so if you plan to stitch during weekend, a ton or just a ten stitches you should pay a visit to Joysze and join the IHSW, also you should start following her too :) also it will be a great excuse to not do any housework for the weekend right... since you can always say... "Sorry it's the IHSW so I'm supposed to just sit and stitch and nothing else!!"
Also for those of you who are curious about my MP, if you visit Joysze blog after the weekend, you'll be able to have a peak at it, since Joysze is being extremely kind and will post a picture of my progress for me :D

IHSW results

So I did spent the weekend only stitching (and from time to time working) and I'm really happy with the results, on Saturday I only stitched on my Mistery Project, I was able to put it more 906 stitches, so I now have 3902 stitches (done over 5 stitching days) of 27750, I just hope I can keep the pace, that way I'll have more than time to finish it properly...
Now on Sunday I changed to SK Treasures (it's the SAL weekend for it) because I wanted to have a picture to share too... I stitched the first column (950 stitches), I think today I'll stitch a bit more on SK Treasures, since it's on the stand and I'll change to the MP later on tonight... and here is the photo :)

New Project and IHSW stitching

Hi everyone,
I haven't posted much I know, and I also know that until next month there will be only a few pictures to share.
The reason for this is because I've a new project started on the go with a total of 27750 stitches that I want (read must) to finish until mid-October so the result is I stopped all my other projects to focus on this one. On 4 days I've already stitched a total of 2996 stitches so if I keep up the pace I'll be able to finish it on time. As you probably have noticed by now I'm not giving any details about this mistery project because it's for someone that reads my blog and I don't want to ruin the surprise. But although I don't share the picture, I'll update you on my progress by sharing the number of stitches it has.
As this weekend is the IHWS again, I plan to stitch on my Mistery Project for the full day today and tomorrow I'll make an exeption day and stitch on SK Treasures, since we received the 2nd page this week and I want to have a picture to share as well and not only a boring text :)

And because I don't want to close the post with no pictures to show.... I'll share with you some of my first projects stitched years ago.

IHSW stitching

Hi everyone,
I hope you all had a lovely weekend full of stitches, specially for those who joined the IHSW, I know I did stitch a lot although I was working (I was lucky that it was a quite weekend in terms of work). I've foused on Jasmin and all I have to stitch now is the flowers and do the backstitch. I've managed to complete the blue background and stitch the greens.

Here is how it's now:

And now since this is the SK SAL week I'll stop a little bit with Jasmin and I'm going to try and finish the 1st page of it. I've more than half already done. But before I jump to it I want to stitch the Stressed Out Cat from Margaret Sherry. I'm hoping it will only take a few hours, since it only has a few stitches in one colour and then it's bakstitch.

Thanks for reading and Happy Stitches

What've been doing...

I know, I know, it's been a while since my last posting regarding my projects. But as it happens in the beggining of every month I've had tons of work to do and little stitching time. But I did stitch and spent my "weekend" (my days of are Monday and Tuesday" dedicated to stitching. And I was able to complete one of my monthly goals, not that they are that many xD.
I finally caught up with the SAL Tree of Stitches of Abi, and now I've completed part 13 (it's nearly finishing). I've to do some adjustments since I made some mistakes like wrongly finding the center and therefore getting a wee bit short on the top and miscounting some stitches and so I went round the issue when there was too much to frog. But I think it's ok, and apart the big center problem, i don't think you can tell where the other misltakes are.

And here are the piccs a general view:

And a close up to the new stitched parts:
   Part 7-9
Part 10-11
Part 12-13

Also I dyed another piece of fabric, this time it was blue, and here is the final result. I really like it :)
I've put a piece of white paper on top. To work as a comparisson.

And this is what I'll be stithing on it:
It's from Cross Stitch Magazine, and it's perfect for one of my grandmother's since she loves orchids and I think that by now she has one sample of almost all orchids in her house and they are gorgeous.

And to finish this huge post, I'll be stitching on Jasmin until the SK SAL starts... this is how I left it the last time I stithed on it:

Ohhhh!! By the way... if you managed to read this far I also wanted to let you know about the International Hermit and Stitch Weekend that Joysze hosts on her blog... I'm already in for this month and if you want to try it just go here.

And finally stop with the talk and back to stitching :)

Happy Stitches everyone
