It's really been that long

Wow... Only now I realized for how long I haven't posted here.... but in my defence I have a good excuse, my computer and blogger weren't getting along and my net kept rashing wenever I tried to post something and then I had a week holidays, booked on really short notice by boss demands, and I spent it painting the house, so for one week there was no internet for me :(... How I missed it...
But anyway, enough with the omplaints and excuses and lets go to the interesting part. And get ready for a long post because today I have tons of things to share.
So first of all, July goals, were all completed, yay for me ^^ I finished Jasmin :)
Here is the piccie before I washed it.

I caught up with the TOS, and great news were waiting for me when I got back and read my e-mails, part 15 has been released (the last part) which I'll be stitching tonight for sure, and Abi revealed the next SAL... and boy ohhh you can count me in the Owl is just sooooo cute :). (You can see a pic of it a few posts down)

And last goal was to complete the 1st page of SK Treasures which I also did, so now I'm waiting for the next page to be released to keep stithching her :)...

So jumping to August goals here they are:
1 - Finish the TOS (it's as it's done already :D)
2 - Stitch half of the 2nd page of SK Treasures on the week of the SAL
3 - Finish the 2nd page of QS Believe (it's what I've been stitching these past few days, although I hardly stitched a thing :X)
4 - Finish at least 2 of the 3 missing corners of my mum's table cloth....

Extra goal if i still have time - start Orchid from Cross Stitcher

And here is the pic. of QS Believe as of today :)
(sorry for the quality)

With the beginning of a new month and with a new moon there's TUSAL to show, so.... very, very late here is my TUSAL pic:

Ok, so cheking my checklist of what I wanted to share on this huge post the only thing missing are the giveaways... I must say Lucky me ^^

I won Julie and Yes Dear giveaway and I'll be able to get some goddies from HAED, thank you so much for your kindness Julie :) I'll let you all know which charts I picked when I have decided, for now I'm sure I'll get Aries QS and Sagitarius QS by Sara Butcher (my partner's and my zodiac signs respectivelly) but I'm still thinking which ones I'll pick.

Finally last, but not least for sure, my dearest friend Cucki is having a gorgeous giveaway you can check it here :).

And I think it's all for now, thanks if you were able to keep with me up to the end of this huge post :)

Happy stitches

Keeping the IHSW spirit / Mantendo o espirito do IHWS

I decided to keep the IHSW spirit during my "weekend" since my days off from work are Monday and Tuesday, and therefore I spent two more days almost only stitching.
I haven't stitched much, or at least not as much as I would have liked too (as usual) but I still managed to get almost another finish, I stitched Stressed out Cat by Margaret Sherry (in theory it's finished but I want to add an extra sentence) and I did stitch two more columns on the SAL SK Treasures... I'm hoping that by tomorrow, Thursday I'll have the first page finished, or nearly finished so I can go back to Jasmin and try to have it finished by the weekend and have a week full of finishings, since it will be Stressed Out Cat finished, 1st page of Treasures finished, and Jasmin finished as well... Now the photos will be just after the Portuguese version of the post since I got my mum following my blog to see my progress too :)

As the title says, that's what I've been working on this week, I've done a couple more stitches on Dragon Fae and completed my first page, and did a bit more, and managed to stitch up to Part 7 on my Tree of Stitches, I must say i'm really enjoying learning all the new stitches :)

And here are the pictures of my work

progress on Treasures

This week was the SK SAL on the HAED BB, so I've been stitching Treasures until now, until I got the third column done. I made a mistake when counting and it's going to be short on the 10 first lines of white but I'm loving it and I can start to see the hair taking shape it's really amazing...

Hope you like it,

Another goal completed and a new start

On Thursday I finished another column on QS Believe and I completed my 2nd goal for this month. I intended to stitch more on it, but the thrill to start SK Treasures was bigger an on Friday I started it. By the end of today I have more or less 1400stitches done, now I'm not sure if tomorrow I'll add a few more stitches to it or if I start my Tree of Stitches from the TSS, tomorrow I'll see, meanwhile here are some pics of my
progresses

A few more stitches in between tons of work

And the title says it all.
this past week has been crazy in work, as all the first weeks of the month I must say so. But anyway I still had time to stitch a few stitches and for the first time I hand-dyed a piece of white fabric. I really liked the final result and will definetly do it more times. I'm not going to show the entire piece because is for an exchange and I don't won't to ruin the fun, but I'll show a wee bit of it, so you can see the fabric with it's new colour.

Also I was able to stitch on QS Believe and I'm nearly finishing the 2nd column of the 2nd page so for sure I'll be stitching one more column before jumping to the next project. And here is how it stands:

Meanwhile two of the goodies I send for the swaps arrived their destination and I'm very happy because they were very appreciated. One was the ornie I did and for which I posted pictures already, and the other one I can now share was the Autumm Pack (I forgot to take pictures before sending it, but you can see it on my friend Cucki blog here.

Thanks for stoping by :)

What I've been up to...

The month is nearly over, and considering that the past weeks have been really busy at work I'm quite happy with what I achieved in terms of my goals. I managed to complete two more goals that I had set up, and I still have tomorrow to stitch, so maybe.... I'll be able to do the 300 stitches on Jasmin and only have one objective not completed. I'm not going to show the pics I have of what I sent for the last exchange that was missing. But I can say I did my first biscornu and I was so happy with the result that I was quite tempted to stay with it. xD
After that I attacked the bit that was missing on Touch of Spring to complete 2 more pages... Yay!!! (I must admit one page is a partial page, but it's still a page right :)) and here are the pictures for Touch of Spring. I haven't washed it yet so you can still see the grid lines and the hoop marks...

Happy stitches

Two monthly goals completed

Today I manage to complete two more of the monthly goals I set for myself, making the bookmark for the swap-bot exchange, which I promise I'll share here after the person or whom was created receives, I'm not posting earlier because I don't want to ruin the surprise.

The second was completing the 1,5 rows on Dragon Fae 1, and now there's only another 1,5 rows to complete my first page on it... and for this one I have a picture to share :)

Also I want to share with you the graphic I created for the ornament I made and for which I posted pictures on my last entry here on the blog. Hope you like it!

What I've been up to..

Since the begining of the month, I've been stitching several things none of them finished yet , but on a good progress... So I almost completed one of the goals for this month, having 1,5 rows done on Dragon Fae
you can already see the horn of the dragon showing up and the faery's wing is taking shape :). And the only reason why I haven't finished it and started working on the next of the list is because I had to add two more projects to the list for swap-bot exchanges, they are going to be in some way similar because I haven't got much imagination when I don't have an idea what the people who is going to receive likes, and I don't want to wait until I know who my partners will be because I'm afraid that then I wont have time to finish :X...
Anyway I'm not going to show the progress pictures because I don't want to ruin the surprise.. (and I'm not sure what the final result will be :X) so I'll only show the colors I'm using for now...

Before starting the monthly goal

During this week, more precisely on Tuesday and Wednesday I've worked on Dragon Fae, and manage to complete almost two vertical rows, and now the tip of the faery wing and a part of the dragon horn are starting to show. I'm tent stitching the background (it really is fast) and doing the fairy and dragon on full cross-stitching and I can already see it popping from the background, unfortunately is a too small area to be visible on the picture.

Also, I started doing the freebie "Flower Fairy" from DMC, that came with the world of cross stitching, that a friend, Jenny, kindly sent me, and I'm really pleased wirh the progress I'm really enjoying it.  Here are the photos after 1 night stitching and after two night stitching.

I hope you like it.

Qs Believe - Jessica Galbreth - Page 1

I know I said I would have this page finished by the end of this week. At least it was what I waned, but I've been so busy that I could only find a couple of hours to stitch today, and this was the result for this week after only half day stitching (not as much as I wanted but I'm still very proud of my progress :)

QS Believe - Jessica Galbreth - Page 1 - 13/02/2011

I was hoping I could have finished my first page on QS Believe by now, but unfortunately I could only stitch a couple of stitches from Friday up to now, is not as much as I wanted but still there's some visible progress. I just hope I can finish this first page by this week.

Hope you like it,

QS Believe - Jessica Galbreth - Page 1 - 02/03/2011

I wanted to join the HAED BB SAL for this week since the theme was projects with animals. I returned to QS Believe to stitch a little bit more of the butterfly, (of course, once more I'm changing my rotations plans, I think I an't just stick with it) anyway here is my progress up to 02/03/2011

Hope you like it,

Happy stitches everyone

Updates - Touch of Spring and a new start

Last Friday I got the best visit of the month. The postman came with a package for me, and guess what it was the stitching frame I had ordered, and as obvious I had to try it, specially when I had been containing myself from start Dragon Fae 1 until I received it, because I wanted it to be the first one to try the new framing system. I'm simply loving it. And I think I'm faster, although I can't actually compare it yet, because I'm stitching the background on tent stitch and I'll do the dragon and the fairy on full stitch.

Meanwhile I focused on Touch of Spring (until Friday) and I'm nearly finishing one more full page and one partial page. I must confess I'm loving it, the shadows on the hand are so gorgeous and it makes it seem so real.

And of course here you have the pictures:
(A close up of dragon fae, after the first day on it - it's mainly Kreinik#4)

(A better view of what I stitched, painted on the chart)

Touch of Spring - K. Koukiotis - 07/02/2011

Since I stopped stitching the table cloth due to the missing thread, I returned to Touch of Spring. I couldn't wait to start stitching the hand and here is my progress up to now, I kinda finish my third page [page 2] only a couple of stitches missing because I'm still waiting for the thread to arrive. and I started page 14, I had to frog and redo nearly 600stitches, but still I think I'm doing a good progress...

Here are the pics:

The general view, I already hit the top and only 40 lines away to reach the bottom.

And a close-up to the first stitches in the hand :) You can see two fingers already :)

Touch of Spring... end of second week

By the end of the second week on Touch of Spring I almost finished my third page (page number 2). I'm really pleased to see the progress and I'm looking forward to start the following page, I'm going to do the bottom pages now which means I'll be doing part of the hand :)

And here are the photos:

The full progress:

And a close up to the two weeks progress:

There are some missing crosses in the middle but I ran out of the thread I needed . Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow or Wednesday along with the threads for my next start ...

Hope you enjoy it and Happy Stitches =D

My progress

So I decided to change my rotation to 2 weeks in each project so that I can enjoy each one a bit longer and see more progress in the end of the time. On Monday I've picked up "Touch of Spring" again and this is my progress after 4 days, 1400+ stitches:

I also decided I'll be posting my progress a bit more frequently since the rotation is 2 weeks each I'll be posting 4 times per each project :)
